Thank you very much for all your help in preparation for birth of my beautiful baby daughter Isabella.

I have been and will continue to recommend hypno-births to everyone.  I can confidently say I enjoyed the day as much as labour allows, it has not put me off.

The key element was relaxation, hypnotherapy allowed me to relax so much that coping with the contractions was easy. My birthing partner was my husband Simon he kept whispering in my ear my trigger word, which helped greatly, I kept remembering ‘each contraction is a step closer to my baby’ during the contractions.

I would say that for anyone who is considering hypnotherapy, to make sure their birthing partner is informed of your triggers and has listened to your CD in plenty of time, Isie was born 3 weeks early so Simon was not as prepared as he could have been.

Pain relief was given, (or I should say control) was taken in the form of gas and air and pethadin, I would not use pethadin again, as it took the control away from me and as a result my hypnosis was harder to achieve. My midwife was very impressed with my ability to sleep between contractions towards the second half of labour she “had not seen that for a long time”.  Relaxation through hypnosis was successful in helping me through each stage quickly.  If I had not had complications Isie would have arrived by 4pm, but she got stuck in my pelvic area and was therefore assisted with forceps.  Even with this I was only 12hours in labour quite good I believe for First baby.

In conclusion I would encourage anyone to use hypnosis with birth (natural birth), go for it, trust it, it really worked for me and could work for you.
