About Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a powerful way to help your mind heal itself, which in turn can help to heal your body restoring some of the natural balance. It can be used to break habits, to give you confidence, to get rid of those negative feelings of depression, doubt, and correct the inappropriate feelings of anger and guilt. When used properly Hypnotherapy can be used to resolve psychological, emotional, and some physical problems too, as many physical illnesses are brought on by the mind.

How does it work?

By using relaxation techniques you are put into an altered state of mind, we all go into this state when going to sleep or waking up or daydreaming or meditation, we then work with the sub-conscious to find the most effective way of dealing with your problem. Done properly problems can be resolved efficiently and effectively in a natural way without drugs and in the process you become generally more relaxed with a feeling of well being and none of the negative side effects that you can get from drugs.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Generally yes, but only if you co-operate and allow yourself to be hypnotised

What are the dangers?

None, with a good therapist. It is important and more beneficial however that you feel comfortable about working with your therapist.

What Happens when I come for hypnotherapy?

The first session will last between one and a half to two hours. We’ll start with discussing what you want to deal with and what you would like to achieve from your therapy and answer any questions for you

When is my first therapy session?

On deciding to go ahead we will begin your first hypnotherapy session.  I will talk to your sub conscious mind while you relax in a comfortable chair. In most cases people are aware of what is happening when being relaxed into a hypnotic state, and can come back to full consciousness at any time.

How many sessions will I need?

That will vary from person to person and what were working on for instance smoking will in most cases take one session as in most cases were just dealing with a habit. With other problems we need to take out the old behaviour and create a new more appropriate pattern of behaviour. Sometime issues of self worth need to be looked at and changed to something more positive. Some people are very motivated and make the changes quickly; some people need a bit more time. After each session we can discuss your progress and what would be best for you.

You will Never be asked to commit to a long course of therapy you do not need.

How successful is it?

Hypnotherapy has a very high success rate when you consider how many people have used it as a last resort when other treatments have failed, and it has the highest success rate to stop smoking.
